The Experimental Fellowship supports architects and cross-disciplinary teams working on regenerative, circular, and climate-conscious approaches to the built environment. We fund practice-based research from early-stage ideas to real-world implementation. Fellows also gain access to expertise, infrastructure, and testing environments through partnerships with organizations such as think-and-make-tank Bauhaus Earth and material data platform revalu.
We welcome applications from individuals, studios, collectives, and cross-disciplinary teams working in architecture, engineering, research, and craft. We particularly encourage applications from early-career practitioners and teams who are committed to transforming how—and with what—we build.

Applicants choose one of three tracks. Each track focuses on a different stage of the design process and connects Fellows with a different partner organization.
DEVELOP
For early-stage research. Fellows explore new materials, methods, and approaches, generating new knowledge.
DESIGN
For building systems and products. Fellows develop, test, and refine design solutions through hands-on, practice-based work.
APPLY
For real-world implementation. Fellows put regenerative solutions into practice through pilot projects and existing construction processes.
