An interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and professionals from the social sciences, political science, economics, and law, baukreisel emerged from years of hands-on experimentation, and a shared ambition to rethink construction practice.

Its focus is where transformation becomes tangible – existing building stock, material cycles, and the processes connecting them – developing strategies and projects that treat reuse not as an exception but as a viable default; one that is ecologically, economically, and socially sound.
